Fodes ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Fodes mobile application, an AI-powered nutrition coach.

1. Data Controller

Fodes is a mobile application operated by CF Labs.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), Fodes acts as the data controller.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, you sign in with your Apple ID (Sign in with Apple). We collect:

• A unique user identifier
• Your email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email)
• Your name (if shared)

You may also use Fodes as a guest with an anonymous session, in which case no email or name is collected. Your account is part of the CF Labs app ecosystem, so the same sign-in also works with our companion apps Caltria and Pantral.

2.2 Chat and AI Content

When you use the Fodes Nutrition Coach, we collect and store:

• The messages you send in the chat
• AI-generated responses, meal suggestions, and recipes
• Items you add to your grocery list
• Meal plans you create

This content is linked to your user identifier so your conversations and lists stay available across sessions and devices.

2.3 Health and Pantry Data

If you link Fodes with our companion apps, we process:

• Nutrition intake and goal snapshots from Caltria (for example calories and protein logged today)
• The contents of your pantry from Pantral

This data is used server-side to ground the coach's advice in your actual intake, goals, and available ingredients. It is only processed if you use or link those apps.

2.4 Feedback Information

If you voluntarily submit feedback, we collect:

• Your feedback message
• Feedback type
• Your user identifier

This information is stored securely in our backend database.

2.5 Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Fodes Pro:

• Subscription product (monthly/yearly)
• Subscription status
• Purchase events
• RevenueCat user identifier

All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not collect or store payment details.

2.6 Analytics and Crash Reports

We may use privacy-focused product analytics to understand how features are used (feature usage, screen views, device type, OS version). Analytics collection is currently minimal. The app also collects crash diagnostics to help us fix stability issues.

We do not use advertising identifiers.

3. AI Processing

Fodes is an AI-powered app. When you chat with the Nutrition Coach:

• Your messages, together with relevant context (such as your linked nutrition and pantry data), are sent to our secure backend.
• Our backend forwards this content to AI model providers — Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) — to generate the response.
• These providers process the content as our service providers under their API terms and do not use it for advertising.

Do not include sensitive personal information in your chat messages that you do not want processed by these providers.

Fodes does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not sell your data. Our Apple privacy manifest declares no tracking.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

We process data under:

• Contractual necessity (providing AI coaching, account features, and subscription management)
• Legitimate interest (improving and securing the app)
• User consent (feedback submission, linking companion apps)
• Compliance with legal obligations

7. Data Storage and International Transfers

Data may be processed in:

• The European Union
• Switzerland
• The United States (via third-party cloud and AI infrastructure)

Where required, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are applied.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account and chat data: retained as long as your account exists
• Analytics data: retained according to third-party provider policies
• Local data: remains on your device until deletion or app removal

You can delete your account directly in the app (Profile > Account), which removes your account data from our backend. You may also request deletion at any time by email.

You have the right to:

11. Health & Nutrition Disclaimer

Fodes provides AI-generated meal suggestions, recipes, and nutrition information for informational purposes only.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. The app does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, and linked health data is used for informational personalization only.

Users are responsible for:

• Verifying ingredient safety
• Checking allergens
• Consulting healthcare professionals where appropriate

We do not guarantee allergen-free results.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time.
