1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of the Fodes mobile application ("Fodes", "App", "we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Fodes is a mobile application that provides:

• Personalized recipe recommendations
• Meal suggestions based on dietary preferences
• Food filtering (e.g., allergies, dislikes, cuisine preferences)
• Optional premium features through paid subscriptions

The App provides informational food suggestions only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App.

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have parental or legal guardian permission to use the App and to purchase subscriptions.

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Copy or redistribute App content
• Use automated scripts or bots
• Attempt unauthorized access to backend systems
• Upload malicious code
• Use the App for unlawful purposes
• Interfere with App functionality
• Misrepresent your identity
• Violate applicable laws

6. Subscriptions (Fodes Pro)

6.1 Available Plans

Fodes offers auto-renewable subscriptions:

• Monthly subscription
• Yearly subscription (includes 3-day free trial)

Prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region.

6.2 Payment Processing

Subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.

We do not store or process payment information.

6.3 Free Trial

If a free trial is offered:

• The subscription automatically converts into a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
• You may cancel at any time in Apple ID settings.

6.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will receive notice in accordance with Apple's policies.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party providers:

• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Supabase (backend database)
• PostHog (product analytics)
• Apple App Store (payments)

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or availability of third-party services. Your use of such services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Food & Health Disclaimer

8.1 Not Medical Advice

Fodes does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.

All recipes and recommendations are provided for informational purposes only.

8.2 Allergy & Ingredient Disclaimer

While the App allows filtering for allergies and preferences, we do not guarantee:

• Allergen-free results
• Complete ingredient accuracy
• Suitability for medical conditions

Users are solely responsible for verifying ingredient safety and consulting qualified professionals if necessary.

8.3 No Guarantee of Results

We do not guarantee:

• Health outcomes
• Weight loss or gain
• Nutritional results
• Dietary success

9. Intellectual Property

All App content, including:

• Design
• Layout
• Branding
• Text
• Recipe presentation
• Underlying software

is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce or distribute content without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided:

"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"

Without warranties of any kind, including:

• Accuracy
• Reliability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Continuous availability
• Error-free operation

EU Consumer Notice: Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable EU law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

We shall not be liable for:

• Indirect or consequential damages
• Loss of profits or data
• Health-related consequences
• Allergy-related reactions
• Subscription disputes handled by Apple

If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Nothing excludes liability for:

• Fraud
• Gross negligence
• Mandatory statutory consumer rights

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.

Deleting the App does not cancel active subscriptions — cancellation must occur via Apple ID settings.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

13. Modifications

We may update:

• The App
• Features
• These Terms

Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date.

Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland.

Mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence remain unaffected.

15. Feedback

If you submit feedback, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use such feedback for product improvement without compensation.

16. Apple-Specific Terms

If you access the App via the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple.
• Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support.
• Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the App.
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
